So I emailed plenty of studios with my pdf and individually tailored cover letters and while I haven't heard back from all, I have had a few responses!
The Archipelago, a really nice Leeds branding agency said that they only take 3rd year graduates - which is fair enough.
Duke Studios invited me in and offered me a week of experience in August which I gladly accepted! It's not strictly a design placement but I figured that I'll be around design studios for the week and it's up to me to get to know them.
