The interview was bad! The guys didn't seem to like my work as much and this in turn left me struggling to fully articulate my points etc. All in all it was a vital experience of failure that will make me consider who I apply to in more detail!
A few key points from the guys I was speaking to:
- Consider deeper process led presentation within the portfolio.
- Consider if my work is fully appropriate to their output and vice versa!
- Bringing actual examples of work was a good idea to see print finish etc.
- Try more far out realisations of ideas - instead of producing books etc.
Of course I'm disappointed but I do think it was an experience that I needed, mainly to prove that not every studio is the right place for me! It also made me consider bulking out my portfolio and describing processes in more detail.
