Had my interview at Dust in Sheffield today. Lovely studio with lovely people!
They ran me through how the studio functions and the kind of work they do day to day. We then went through my portfolio and discussed in detail the processes that went into each project.
The pair that I was talking to took particular likings to my machine drawn articles and Michel Gondry projects, noting the invention that went into the process as keys to their success.
The one thing they mentioned as a slight negative was the inclusion of a title at the bottom of each mda print, noting that the piece would've worked better contextually with something more hand drawn.
A surprise thing that went down really well was my walleater 7" sleeve which seemed to impress the dust guys on account of the more hands on, scanned in process that went into the design - in addition to it just being a pretty cool object!
Anyway, it went really well and we talked about how best to push forward, considering a couple of days a week in the studio. I await an email!
