Studio Brief 2 / Taking Care of Business / Branding 'Fresh Prints'

Fresh Prints has huge potential in terms of branding, with connotations of fruit, hand made things, hands, analog, printing, anything FRESH!

My first idea is based around the symbol for analog, commonly seen in Sony's old logo for Vaio (below).

Our business plan and aesthetic in our branding and design is that we use our hands and try to get away from digital image making as much as possible. Incorporating the analog symbol into the logo could be a really nice and simple piece of subtle branding (though Sony have done it very well here).

Another piece of branding that I'm a huge fan of is Moodley Austria's take on Leading Search Partners' - a recruitment agency - identity.

It's responsive in that while the logotype stays the same throughout, the imagery is all about having a different take on the term 'search'. It ranges from a truffle-pig to a deep sea diver searching for a pearl.

Another nice piece conveying the hands on approach to her business is David Büsser's identity for Annette Hamburger, a physical therapist.

The hands on aspect is conveyed beautifully through the use of her own fingerprint, inked and printed onto each and every piece of stationery.

Dot Dash, London created a rather nice - if quite trendy - identity for London Baker's Fatties (below).

It's such an evocative brand name that they couldn't really fail but I give it marks for using the stretched glyph trend for an actual conceptual purpose, while the marbled pattern supposedly represents the flour on the table when baking.
