I felt my website had been sitting around unimproved for too long so decided to make a few little tweaks. Squarespace makes it very easy to make small changes which can greatly improve the user experience.
My first tweak was to change the homepage menu grid to 2x2 as apposed to 3x3. This means each project has more visual impact with it's larger image and the whole page looks less cluttered as a result.
I'm also in the process of changing each photo-series into a click along browser as apposed to a hugely long scrolling page. This adds a professional feel to each case study and allows the user to never stray from the information about the project.
Finally, I've removed a really annoying feature that Squarespace automates to, in which an exact replica of the homepage grid would appear at the bottom of each individual project page. With that out of the way, each project is now concise, short and has a simple, 'Return to Work' button to return to the homepage.
